Philly Stomp!Let's go to New Orleans! Philly Stomp! is authentic New Orleans swinging jazz like you heard from the Twenties right up to today on Basin and Bourbon Streets and in the French Quarter. Take a trip down these famous streets while you listen to excerpts from Philly Stomp's recording of Stevedore Stomp written by Duke Ellington in 1929. Philly Stomp! will bring your audience the sounds of New Orleans with a seven piece (or smaller) ensemble playing traditional New Orleans vintage jazz classics which date back to the turn of the 20th century. Among the repertoire are several arrangements by noted bassist and band leader, Ed Wise, a mainstay of the New Orleans music scene. The group is co-led by pianist Dave Posmontier, clarinetist Charly Salinger and trumpeter Stan Slotter. In this video, you will also see Fred Scott on trombone, Grant MacAvoy on drums, David Brodie on upright bass, and Pat Mercuri on banjo, mandolin and guitar.
